In this evocative text, author Kwiecinski introduces readers to Amy, Geo, Tucket, and Maryanne, who are out kayaking in Content Keys, an island in Monroe County, Florida. The four encounter three dead bodies and their beautiful trip is suddenly marred by this unforeseen tragic event. Geo, one of the kayakers, and an ex-Navy Seal makes an emergency call to the area lieutenant who in turn instructs, Suzy and Kip, two conservationist officers, to head down to West Island Key to secure the area. For Suzy and Kip, longtime lovebirds, this seems like an ordinary part of their job but they soon realize that something sinister is going on. Within no time, they become embroiled in a fast-spin labyrinth of the seedy business of Mexican drug cartels and illegal poaching. With more deaths, sudden kidnappings, and a corrupt councilman to reckon with, they move fast to flex their investigative muscles and catch those involved before things run out of hand. While not a high-octane murder mystery, Yesterday Revealed The Florida Keys: Hubris of Pretension is a solid story with plenty of twists, suspense, and intrigue. Kwiecinski is like a puppeteer pulling the strings of the reader’s imagination. The author leaves no stone unturned as he weaves invaluable historical and geographical background of Content Keys and ties this with an intricate plot and razor-sharp characters. The narrative has a contemporary feel making it perfect for modern times. The masterful transition of present and backstories is commendable. I particularly liked how the author introduces readers to the antagonists too, shedding light on their temperament, thoughts, and their next move culminating in a well-rounded plot. The dialogues too, are engaging and gives readers a sense of the characters’ different personalities, quirks, and views. At times, the author added some Latin words into the dialogues with translations alongside them, giving the text an authentic feel and believable quality. Yesterday Revealed The Florida Keys: Hubris of Pretension by Kerry Kwiecinski is perfect for fans of intriguing mystery stories.
The well-written mystery and drama, as well as the flourishing partnership, captivated me. The author's approach to the story was expertly tailored to provide just enough information while maintaining a high level of tension.

Two couples—Geo and Amy and Tucket and Maryanne—are having the trip of a lifetime, navigating the Florida Keys. Then Geo and Tucket discover three bodies while camping in West Content Key. A story of intrigue follows as three more bodies are found, and three of the friends go missing. Kwiecinski does a fantastic job describing the Keys. Not only does the beauty of the natural and remote area of West Content Key come through, but the narrative also captures the essence of Key West with its Duval Street nightly sunset parties and the haunts of Ernest Hemingway. These descriptive sections render the setting an important aspect of the story. The author is not only good at telling an interesting and complex story but also has a knack for description that gives readers a feel for what life is like in the region.
